Do you know the number one reason real estate agents fail? I know that new agents start excited, and everything feels possible for them. But soon, they’re not sure if they should make calls, post on social media, or simply wait for leads. While they’re stuck thinking about what to do next, time slips away, money runs out, and they end up quitting. That’s why I always say that hope is not a plan.
So when agents fail, it’s not because they’re lazy or not smart; they fail because they don’t have a plan! Just like baking a cake, you don’t throw things together and hope for the best. Instead, you follow a recipe; real estate works the same way. You need a clear plan with a simple step-by-step approach. Here’s the system I share with the agents on my team.
1. Talk to people every day. Real estate is all about connecting with people. The more people you talk to, the more homes you’ll sell. However, it’s easy to get distracted or overthink things, so make it a habit to talk to someone every day. Whether it’s a call, a meeting, or a conversation at the coffee shop—just keep talking to people. The more people you help, the more successful you’ll be.
Time is your most valuable asset in real estate; manage it well to close more deals.
2. Follow up fast. When someone expresses interest in your help, don’t wait. Reach out immediately by calling them, texting them, and doing whatever it takes to show them that you care. Fast follow-up is a game changer in real estate. People want to feel heard, and when you respond quickly, you build trust and show your commitment. Don’t waste time thinking about it. Act right away!
3. Keep learning. Even the best agents never stop learning. They keep practicing, keep refining their skills, and keep improving. And that’s exactly what you should be doing, too. Whether it’s learning new marketing strategies or staying on top of market trends, continuous learning will make you better every day.
